Then & Now

Hello all and welcome to my blog post for Let's Get Sketchy. As always over at the blog as a great sketch for you to work with and join in the fun along with some beautiful pages from the rest of the design team for inspiration. Now for the sketch and then my layout.

Yes it is a layout of me....Wow what a change :)
I created the layout on Kaisercraft Base Coat collection 12x12 sheet. The other patterned papers I chose are the Kaisercraft - Fly Free Collection.

The Mini Paper Blooms are by Kaiser and are Hot Pink and Coconut. The patterned papers I inked the edges with Distress Ink - Black Soot.

The larger Paper Blooms are also by Kaiser and the words are from the Kaiser Sticker sheet out of the Fly Free range and the butterflies have been fussy cut from the range.

I have mounted the photos on white cardstock just to make them stand out a little and not get lost in all the pink. My title is from the Kaiser Alpha Sticker sheet - Ebony.

The die to create my lace strip is by Our Daily Bread - Beautiful Boarders. I placed Flourish with a Bling - Rose Pink Pearls on it after the edges were inked.

I hope you have enjoyed my layout and please call over to the Let's Get Sketchy Blog, check out the rest of the DT work and join in the fun with another great sketch.

Always Friends

Hello my crafty friends and welcome as always to my blog. I would like to show you a layout I have created for my DT post over at Meg's Garden
The layout I have created is of my very beautiful friend Lynn Good. Not only is she beautiful but she is also a very special lady who I love a lot.

The beautiful patterned papers are from the "English Rose Garden" collection. I just love these papers, the flowers on them are lovely and the colours divine. I created my layout on white cardstock.

I inked the edge of the patterned papers with Distress Ink - Walnut Stain. I chose the ink colour as I thought it went great with the rest of the colours I was using and it really made the patterned papers stand out. Also behind the photo I used a paper doily and inked it lightly all over with Walnut Stain and the edge of the doily a little darker.

This beautiful butterfly has been fussy cut from Butterflies Transparencies Sheet. The sheet has 13 beautiful butterflies to choose from.

The beautiful bird cage tag I have fussy cut from The English Rose Garden Collection cut and create   sheet. There are different wonderful tags and embellishments to be cut from the one sheet. I also used the text tag from the same sheet and both tags I inked the edge of.

The beautiful flowers I chose to use are available in 11 different colours and would look wonderful on any layout, card or project. In these Fantasy Blooms packets there are eight different blooms in different sizes. In this packet of Rust coloured blooms you get the cream is in my layout which have the rust center to match.

I hope you have enjoyed my layout and please call over to the Meg's Garden blog and see a lot of other different crafty creations for the rest of the DT. There is so much beautiful work to inspire you.

Best Buddies

Hello crafty friends and welcome to my blog. Today I would like to show you a layout i have created for my DT post over at Le's Capture our Memories. As always you have a wonderful sketch for the challenge and I'm sure if you hop on over to the blog, see what the rest of the design team have created you will be inspired to join in the fun with us. Now for the sketch.

This is my take on the sketch.

Of course these are my two very handsome boys but the photo was taken a few years back now as this Saturday 22nd August my eldest son Riley becomes a teenager. Yes the big 13. The patterned papers I chose for this layout are by My Mind's Eye and October Afternoon.

I mounted my photo on the patterned paper and them placed it on some corrugated cardboard that I inked with Distress Ink - Spiced marmalade. The circles are a memory Box Die - Loopy Rings

I inked the edges of my patterned papers with Distress Ink - Black Soot. My Best Buddies chippie Title is by Memory Maze and the Hearts are Scrapmatts. Both have been coloured with a Distress Marker - Iced Spruce.

I don't normally hand journal on my layouts because I never really like my handwriting. I give it a go this time though. The chevrons are from a Kaisercraft collectibles packet.

I hope you have enjoyed calling by again and that I have been able to inspire you a little. Please call over to the Let's Capture Our Memories blog and join in the fun with this sketch.
Happy crafting and may your mojo flow.

Precious

As always welcome to my blog and my latest page for 123 Challenge Blog. What a great challenge we have for you this month over at the blog along with some awesome talented DT pages to give you loads of inspiration. Make sure you get your entry in and don't forget to include the 3 requirements.

Now for my take on the challenge and the beautiful lady in the photo is my mum.

My page has been created on Kaisercraft cardstock - Kraft. To create my background I used Modeling Paste on a TWC Stencil - Gothic Romance, I love this stencil. The clear stamp is by Kaisercrafts - Script with Distress Ink - Walnut Stain. The gold is Irresistible Texture Spray.

The beautiful patterned papers are by The Scrap Cake - Spring Awakening and I inked the edges of it with Walnut Stain as well. My fussy cutting is the flowers from the patterned papers.

I also used one of the fussy cut flowers behind the above title and flower cluster. The chippie name plate is by Scrapmatts and I coloured it a Distress Marker - Victorian Velvet. I then placed some of the patterned paper on it and used Ruby Rock-it Alphabet Rub-ons. The title is perfect for my mum as she is so precious to my boys and I.  The stitching I have done with my journal pen.

The flowers I have used are Green Tara and I just love them. They come in a colour combination pack with the main colour and also creamy/white which has the main colour in the middle so they go together beautifully. The ones I chose for this layout are Orchre. The ornate chippie clock is also by Scrapmatts and they are small but perfect for this layout.

I hope you have enjoyed my layout and please call over to the blog and join in this months challenge.
Until my next post happy crafting. xxx

Memories

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog and my latest post for Meg's Garden. The layout I have created is of my Grandmother (Oma) and I have used the beautiful English Rose Garden Collection of patterned papers. As soon as I looked at these papers I loved them and had the photo I wanted to used in my mind. The papers had a vintage feel to them for me and this is what I come up with.

Flowers are a must for a layout of my Oma as my Grandparents owned a farm where they grew flowers and strawberry's. The flowers when to florists and the strawberry's when to grocers, markets and also brought by Monbulk Jam. She was a hard worker but there was always time for a hug and I will always remember the beautiful relationship she had with my mum. I believe it was their relationship that set the path for the one that my mum and I would have. One that I think I have been able to pass on to my boys with me and their Grandma. But enough of my family history and a little more of the layout and the beautiful products I used.
I created my layout on Kaisercraft Stone cardstock. I'm a big user of cardstock for my layouts. I love the fact that it tends to keep my eye focused on what is created on it rather than the background.

The two patterned papers I chose from the collection were A Bouquet of Roses and Leaves and Foliage. Both I inked the edges of with Distress Ink - Tea Dye. On one edge of the Leaves and Foliage sheet I used a Fiskars Boarder Punch. The beautiful butterfly has been fussy cut from the More Butterflies Transparencies A4 sheet. The butterflies on the sheet are stunning colours and will compliment so much.

I chose to place the photo behind a medium laser cut frame, before doing this I used a distress marker - Peeled Paint to colour it. Once this was done I then covered it with Matisse - Iridescent Medium. I then used a baby wipe to remove some of the Matisse to give it an aged look. Over this I then used Distress ink - Tea Dye and my aged effect was finished.

In my background I used a Bond Square Doily. Meg's Garden has some very beautiful doilies and this is just one of them. I used a little of the Tea Dye ink on it and felt it give it an aged look.
The new Fantasy Bloom flowers are just beautiful. They come in 11 different colours and the colour packet I chose to use was Rust. I just love the fact that they come in colour and also white in the packet with a hint of the coordinating colour

My memories title is a Scrapmatts Chippie - Scrapword/Colour, Burnt Cream. I also inked the edge with a little Tea Dye just to give it a little bit of an aged look. Around the edge of the cardstock I used some water to give it a weathered look.

Thank you so much for stopping in at my blog and I hope you have enjoyed taking a look at my layout. Please leave a comment as I will be calling back and I would love to know what you think. Don't forget to call into the Meg's Garden Blog to have a look at some more of the beautiful work from the rest of the design team created with products from the Meg's Garden online store.
Happy crafting.

Vintage Tags

Welcome as always to my blog and my latest craft creation. I would like to show you some tags I have made for my DT post at Treasure Forever. We are not far off from retreat at Warrnambool and I know that Roz is going to have some of these beautiful papers by Graphic 45 with her. Don't forget you can always contact Roz through facebook or phone to be able to get them and many others.

These beautiful patterned papers are so wonderful to fussy cut from and I love to fussy cut :)
I have created them on Delish - Tea Tags and just added a little extra bling.

For this tag I used Graphic 45 - Couture Collection patterned papers.
As you can see with this closeup I have fussy cut not only the beautiful lady but also the rose flower. A little stitching with a journal pen and ribbon want the top section was complete.

On the bottom half of the tag I used a sentiment from the patterned papers. The chippie on the tag is a Kaisercraft wooden flourish - Berry Vine. I coloured it with Distress Ink Markers and then Kindy Glitz. On the bottom is a Kaisercraft Wooden Flourish - Ornamental Boarders and I cut it to size so as it fitted across the bottom. I then coloured it the same as the Berry Vine.

Now for my second tag and to be honest I'm not sure which one I like the most.

For this tag I used Graphic 45 -Time To Celebrate Collection.
As with the first tag I chose to fussy cut and besides the beautiful lady I fussy cut the butterfly and the small Time to Celebrate at the top of the tag. Again I added the green ribbon.  In the hat I have used a small white feather.
Down each side of the tag I have used Lace Washi Tape and inked the edges of the tag with Distress Ink - Spiced Marmalade. On the Washi Tape I have placed a peal on that. At the bottom I have fussy cut one of the larger flowers. The bottom of this tag I have also used a Kaisercraft Wooden Flourish - Boarders and coloured it with a Copic.

I think they are simple but have an air of elegance. I hope I have inspired you a little and please contact Roz if you are looking for these beautiful papers. Also contact Roz if you are interested in joining us at the Warrnambool retreat. I will be there doing a class and you are more than welcome to join in. There are places left for the retreat and in the class.
Thanks for stopping over and I hope your creative mojo if flowing.

Sweet

Hello and welcome as always to my blog. Today I would like to show you my latest layout for
Let's Get Sketchy. I love this layout and I had the most adorable ballerina to scrap. Miss Meghan is the daughter of a very wonderful friend of mine Melissa. Not only did I have a beautiful subject but I also had a beautiful sketch. I just love this sketch and I'm sure you will too so make sure you call over to the Let's Get Sketchy Blog, get some more inspiration from the rest of the wonderful design team and join in the fun.

Now for my take of the sketch and I have created my layout on Kaisercrafts specialty paper - Oh So Lovely Collection. I just love these specialty papers as they look like you have used a stencil, but no, Distress Spray Stain and walla.

The patterned paper I have used are also from this range of Kaiser papers and I just love the colours of them, so perfect for the photo. I have inked the edges with Distress Ink - Gathered Twigs as I thought this would allow them to stand out just a bit better from the background.

The flower has been fussy cut from the papers and I have placed a little of the ink on the edges of this as well. The butterflies have also been fussy cut from Kaisercraft Specialty sheet - All That Glitters. The ballerina chippie is by Whichcraft and I have coloured it with a Copic and them placed Derivan Kindy Glitz - Hot Pink on it.

The doily die is by Kaisercraft and I used the patterned papers and then inked the edge with Distress Ink - Gathered Twigs. The chippie title is from Dusty Attic and I also coloured it with a copic and then with the Kindy Glitz.

The two beautiful sprays I used are Distress pray Stains - Pickled Raspberry and Evergreen Bough. They are lovely colours and went so well with the papers.

I hope you have enjoyed my layout and please leave a comment so I know you have called. also don't forget to join in the fun at Let's Get Sketchy.
