Port Fairy

Hello crafty friends and as always welcome to my blog. Today I would like to share a page with you that I have created for the challenge over at Pixels and Paper Challenge Blog. As soon as I looked at the challenge I thought - Yes, I love to tear paper. This challenge was going to be fun, below is the inspiration picture and the criteria.

CRITERIA is distressing in some form.
Think tearing paper, inking edges
or using some sandpaper on your cardstock.

From the criteria I chose - Tearing the paper and inking the edges. The tearing of the paper reminded me of the waves and how rough it become late in the day.

For my inspiration from the photo I chose - The weathered look and what better than the beach. We all know how much the ocean can weather things. The roughness to the weathered door reminded me of when we went to Port Fairy on holidays and the roughness the coastline took near the lighthouse at the end of the day.

Now for my take on the challenge.

I remember the first time (Many years back) I attended a workshop and there was tearing of the papers. Wow was I horrified - tear the papers, what do they mean tear the papers. No this couldn't be right not tearing the papers, you cut the papers. My first tear was about to happen and the look on my face  must have been one of committing murder. I kept thinking I'm going to do this wrong. There is no wrong though and I soon got to love it, it's an awesome technique.

The beautiful patterned papers I chose to use for this page are by Pion Designs - Shoreline Treasures. I also loved these papers for the challenge as they are quite vintage which also made me think of the aged weathered look.

I fussy cut my embellishments from the patterned papers and on the edges of my patterned papers I used Distress Ink - Black Soot.

For my title Port Fairy I used Kaiser Alpha Sticker Letters and the verse was cut from Pion Design papers. The other product I used also was a Kaiser Clear Stamp - Fishing Net.

The anchors, shells, coral and cute little boy with his boat have all been fussy cut from the patterned papers. I love the boys boat too as it has a weathered look too it.

Thanks for stopping in and having a look at my page created for the Pixels and Paper Challenge
With such a short time left till we are halfway though the year I hope it's been a great half. I hope that the second half is wonderful too and that your inspiration flows. Please call back again as I would love to see you. Hugs and happy crafting xxx

The patterned papers I chose to use are by Kaiser Craft - Utopia Collection and I created it on white cardstock, with them I once again used the wonderful Freckled Fawn products.

Freckled Fawn Products -
Stars Washi Tape
Wooden Flowers - Purple
Cork Embaellishment
Lace (White and I inked it with Distress Ink - Peeled Paint)

I used a Prima Doily Die and inked the edges with Distress Ink -walnut Stain. I punched out butterflies from the patterned paper and used the same Distress Ink for the edges.

The flowers are fussy cut from the patterned papers and I rolled the petals and used a purple pearl in the center. The leaves have also been fussy cut from the papers.
I used a white chipboard for the title and coloured it with a Copic - Amethyst.

I hope you have enjoyed popping in to see my latest page and that I have been able to inspire you to join in over at the Let's Get Sketchy blog challenge. For those who are living in the cold winter weather like me at the moment stay warm and craft...... That's my answer for the cold, as much as I can anyway.     Happy Crafting xxx

Hello crafty friends and welcome as always to my blog. Today I would like to share a page with you that I have created for the challenge over at Off The Rails. The challenge is Monochromatic and I just love the choice of colors you get to pick from. I have chose to use orange for a layout of a friends daughter Marlie.

Now for my take on the challenge which I have created on Black cardstock.

The beautiful photo of Marlie was taken by Dylan Falcon Photography.

The products I used to create this page were -
Modeling paste which I mixed with Distress Ink - Spiced Marmalade.
Kaisercraft Mist - Orange
Derivan Ink - Orange
Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst - Fussy Navel Peach
Viva Inka Gold Rub - Orange
Tim Holtz Stencil - Bubble
Orange Copic

The beautiful orange flowers are by Petaloo - Floral Ephemera Peach and Flora Doodle  Mixed Blooms Mixed Blooms Sienna.
I also used some Kaisercraft Mango pears just here and there around the flowers.
The butterflies are also by Petaloo.

Both the chippies I chose to use are by Imaginarium. The gorgeous on which I framed Marlie with I first covered with an orange Copic, just a little thing I tend to do before I use Viva Croco Cracking, just incase it crackles a little more than usual and you still have the same colour, in this case orange.
I then in patches used a little Viva Inka Gold rub - Orange.
On my title chippie I used the orange Copic and the coated it with Glossy Accents.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my page for the Off The Rails Monochromatic challenge.

Forget Me Not - Clean and Simple Cards

Hello and welcome once again to my blog and my DT post for Meg's Garden and I hope you enjoy stopping in and seeing my latest creations with the beautiful Megs Garden products. I just love the Forget me Not range. They have the most beautiful flowers on them and have a feel of elegance.
The three cards I would like to show you are clean and simple cards that I have created with mainly just the patterned papers. It shows the beauty of them.
Card number 1 -

The only extras to this card are the cardstock I created it on, the wooden flourish birdcage, liquid pearls and die I used to cut out the thank you. Everything else has been fussy cut from the papers.

 Card number 2 -

This time the only extra on the card is the die cut Thank You. The elegant lady and beautiful flowers have been fussy cut from the patterned papers. Clean and simple and a wonderful use to show off the beautiful papers. It is also a good way of using up anything left over from other creations.

Card number 3 -

Again the only thing that isn't from the patterned papers is the die Thank You with everything else being fussy cut from the patterned papers.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my cards and another look at the fussy cutting world I love. A way I find enhancing work by fussy cutting and also a way of using patterned papers you may have left over from other projects.

Dream - Shadow Tray

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog and my latest DT creation for Megs Garden that I would like to share with you using the beautiful "Rose Quartz" patterned papers.  I would love to say they are my favorite papers but I can't, they are one of my favorite because I love all the Meg's Garden papers. They are wonderful designs to create with and I must say that I always find many things to do with them.
I have already shown you a layout, cards and tags but now it is time to show you my Shadow Tray which I have titled Dream. I chose this title because these papers remind me so much of my mum. She would have loved them and what I have created with them and she is always in my dreams.

The shadow tray as by Scrapmatts and consists of a base and 3 layer. In each of the sections I have used the Rose Quartz papers and the stunning pink rose in the middle at the bottom has been fussy cut from the papers. I love this rose and it reminds me of the many that I have photographed this season.
The white on the tray is a white paint and the deep pink is a Copic.

The butterfly has been fussy cut also from the papers and I coated it with Glossy Accents. The little butterflies throughout the tray I have punched out of the patterned papers and used a little Vintage Photo - Distress Ink on them. As you can see once again my love for the beautiful paper flowers packs you can get in the Meg's Garden Store. They come in 11 different colours so it's a great range along with great sizes.  Also the little ivory rose buds are available in the store. I thought these ones in the ivory were a perfect colour to go with the vintage look.

Underneath my punched butterfly I placed a mini delicate oval filigree and behind the flowers in the section above I used a Tim Holtz Time Piece which comes in a set of 5. These Times pieces are now on clearance in Meg's Garden so if you wanted the set you would have to be quick before they run out. In middle bottom section behind the fussy cut rose you will see the new lace and it comes in three wonderful colours. This one is the cream and the other two colors are pink (Soft) and white,  I just love them all.

The gorgeous Vintage Trinket at the top with the little flower over it is also New to Megs Garden Store.  The flowers that I have used in the photo along side the stature are the Velvet Carabella Rose - Fairy Pink. They are very pretty and have a delicate look. My dream title is also by Scrapmatts and also been painted white.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my shadow tray and please keep scrolling to see more of my creations. Also don't forget to call back again and make sure you leave me some love so I know you called in. Happy crafting. xxx

Friend

Hello crafty friends and welcome to my blog. Today I would like to show you my DT page for
123 Challenge Blog.  What a great challenge it is too, I just love the colour we get to use in this one. Well I guess I always like the colours but this is one of my favorite lol. Over at the blog you will find more awesome inspiration from the rest of the design team over at the blog so please call over and see what they have come up with for this month and join in the fun.
Now for the challenge and then my take on it.

This page is of my beautiful friend Dawn. I would like to take a minute to tell you a little about her and what she means to me and my boys.

Not only is Dawn beautiful on the outside she has the most beautiful quality on the inside. She is always there for the boys and me 24/7 no matter what is going on in her life. She drops anything for us and has the most loving arms that I have fallen into and been so grateful she has been the one to hold them out.

Dawn was that one special person who helped me in a painful time, the loss of my beautiful mum. Dawn and her daughter Eb (11 yrs/old at the time) made it possible to give my mum her last Christmas early and allow us to spend all our time with her and worry about nothing. It was our Christmas to keep in our hearts for ever and was a wonderful memory.

Dawn and Mum

Little did we know that while Dawn was helping Mum and us with our battle with love and cancer she was about to face her own. As we laid my mum to rest my amazing friend would be doing tests and she didn't want me to know, she didn't want to upset me about what they suspected was going on. To spare the pain I was going through she keep her secret in till she was sure and knew she had to tell me. She now battles breast cancer and it truly brakes my heart.
Dawn has two amazing children, Mitch 13 and Eb 11. My mum stands with her for every treatment and helps her with the strength she needs, not that she needs much strength. Like my mum she amazes me at how strong she is. She is beautiful, strong and so very special. She is going to concur this speed bump in her life and we are going to smile and dance when our baby's get married and cry together with joy when our grandchildren are born.
Now you know my love and the boys for Dawn it is time to get back to the challenge and the page I have created for and about her.

The word Drama is in my journal, the colour Lilac I sure have used, my doodling is the flowers with scrolls and the mini flowers that my son says looks a little like a spider with lots of legs lol.

The product I have used are -
Patterned Papers - BoBunny - Enchanted Garden
TCW Stencil - Mini Music Sheet
The Craft Stall - Laser Cut Word - Friend
The Craft Stall - Laser Cut Tags
Ruby Rock-It Rub-on Letters - (Dawns name)
Darkroom Door Stamp - French Script

Green Tara Flowers
Imaginaium Chipboard - Honeycomb
Lilac Journal Pen
Archival Ink - Jet Black
Viva Modeling Paste - Lilac
Ranger Perfect Pearls - Berry Twist
