Always Family

Hello friends and welcome to my blog and my first blog post for the month May. Wow we are just about at the 1/2 year mark and that is just a little scary for me, I wouldn't mind if it slowed down just a little. The older I'm getting the faster the years seem to be going.

Anyway like I said it is time for my first blog post this month and it is a DT page for Let's get sketchy. As always another great sketch for you to work with when joining in the fun. Also the     Let's Get Sketchy Blog has the other DT ladies creations for some inspiration.

Now for my take on the sketch and of course it's of my two awesome sons.

I have created my page on white cardstock and the patterned papers I chose are from the Kaisercraft - Hello Today collection. The two verses I cut from thee paper range and the word stickers are from the sticker sheet in the range.

For the background I used Modeling Paste with a Tim Holtz Collection Stencil - Bubble. Over that when dry I used the stencil again but this time with Distress Ink - Walnut Stain. The two stamps I chose to use on the background were Prima Stitches and Darkroom Door French Script. I used both with Archival Ink - Jet Black.

Around the photo block I used a Black Copic just to make it stand out a little more from the background.  On the edges of the tags I used the Jet Black - Archival Ink.

Also on my background I used Dylusions Ink Spray - Black Marble and Magicals - Steampunk Sepia and Steel Shimmer. The other thing I did was here and there I placed some Matisse Iridescent Medium over the stencil areas.

For my title I used Dusty Attic - Mini Word Chippie and coloured them with the black Copic.

I hope you have enjoyed taking a look at my page and that you hop on over to the Let's Get Sketchy Blog and join in the challenge fun. I would love to see your take on the sketch.
Happy Crafting. xxx
