Wall Frames

Hello crafty friends and welcome to my blog. The post I have for you today is two wall frames I have created for Meg's Garden using the Water Colour In Blues patterned papers. I love everything about these patterned papers and I know that you will too.

When I got these papers I couldn't wait to use them. I have a couple of friends with birthdays coming up so I decided to create a wall frame for each of them.

For my first one I used a timber frame to place the gorgeous papers on. My center piece I fussy cut from the cut and create sheet, I distressed the edges and then inked them with Distress Ink. I found a verse and placed on it and then raised it up in the middle with cardboard.
The edges of the timber frame I coloured with a Royal Blue Copic.

I edged the center with pearls and fussy cut the butterflies from the patterned papers. I love the Organza and Pearl flowers, they have a beautiful soft feel to them.

Behind the beautiful blue flowers and on the back of the frame I placed some of the White Nylon Lace. This lace is stunning and has an elegant look to it. The outside edge of the frame I inked with a blue/grey  Distress Ink.
Now for my other wall frame created with the same stunning papers but this time I decided to go with the purple tones instead of the blue.

I chose this time to use a chipboard as my frame and I coloured it with a purple Copic. Again I fussy cut the beautiful purple flowers from the patterned paper and inked the edge with Weathered Wood Distress Ink. I also raised it with cardboard and then placed some gold pearls in the corners.

The sentiment I also fussy cut from the patterned papers. As I said I love the Nylon Lace so again I used it on this wall hanger. The violas had that touch of purple and went perfectly. The other flower I used is a Blue and White Apple Blossom, they come in 5 different colors and look great on any craft project. The brass flying bird was my final touch.
On the bottom corner I used one of the Violas and then fussy cut the butterfly from the Water Colour In Blues patterned paper.

I hope you have enjoyed having a look at my two wall frames. Don't forget to keep scrolling down and have a look at other stunning creations from the design team. There is always plenty of inspiration and amazing patterned papers, ribbon and many embellishment to see. The Megs Garden Store always has the amazing products we use and they are easy to find by clicking the links.
Until my next post I hope you all keep warm if living in cold weather like me and that your crafty mojo flows. Hugs all - Brenda

The Best Day Ever

Welcome to my blog and I would like to share with you my DT post for Let's Get Sketchy. For this sketch I chose to use two photos of my eldest son Riley. They were taken a few years back at the beach after a swim meet. It was a rather windy and very fresh day.

Now for my take on the sketch.

This page has been created with Kaisercrafts - Coaastal Escape Collection patterned papers and specialty sticker sheet.

The only other products used on my page is Distress Ink - Stormy Sky and my black journal pen around the edge of my title to make it pop just a little from the other word stickers.

That's my page of my very handsome son and I hope you have enjoyed stopping in. Please call over to the Let's Get Sketchy Blog and join in the fun. The blog has awesome DT inspiration and the link for you to join in and we would love to see what you come up with.

Priceless Smile

Hello crafty friends and welcome to my blog. The page I would like to share with you tonight is my DT post for 123 Challenge Blog. This months challenge is all about Pastels, Glitter and the word Priceless. Like every other month you must use the colour, word and technique to be eligible for a wonderful prize. My first thought for this one were girly.... my boys were going to miss out.

Now for my take on the challenge and it is all about my girlfriend Dawn's beautiful daughter Ebony. Eb has a very strong nature and is in some ways like me, not afraid to bump heads with people. What I really love about her though is her priceless smile. Sometime so cute and sometimes so cheeky and I love the both.

The patterned papers I chose to use are by Kaisercraft - Cottage Rose Collection. For the title I used Webster letter tickers and The Craft Shop Wood Embellishment - Smile, which I coloured with a pale green Copic. I also framed the photo with a frame I fussy cut from the patterned papers.

To save loads of reading I will list the products I have used starting with the background -
Tim Holtz Bubble Stencil
Modeling Paste
Prrima Stamp
Lindy's Stamp Gang - Magical -  Opal Sea Oats
Lindy's Stamp Gang - Starburst Spray - My Mojito Green

Imaginarium Designs Chippie - Honeycomb covered with the patterned papers and the edges inked with Distress Ink.
Distress Inks - Scattered Straw, Shabby Shutters and WalnutStain
Kaiser Ink - Petal Pink

I loved these flowers together and their pastel shades, they were perfect for the challenge.
