One's Destination

Hi ladies and gentlemen and welcome. Today is a day for catching up on my posts. I have been a little bad with the school holidays and a few other things that have been happening in my life. So today again I bring to you another post. This one I have created for the challenge over at
Sassy Scrappers. It is a gorgeous beach mood board.

This is my take on the challenge and I made it quite a challenge for myself. As you can see there are no patterned papers. It has been created on blue card stock. Both the lighthouse and anchor chippie are created by Scraptopia.

Metallic Silk Cotton
Blue Glitter
Kaisercraft White Paint
Viva - Antique Crackling
Hessian

Netting
Kaisercraft clear stamp - Distress
Distress Ink - Walnut Stain
Matisse Structure - metallic Sliver

Real Life

Hello all and a huge welcome as always from me. Today I would like to show you my latest creation for my DT position over at Let's Capture Our Memories. As always it is to a wonderful sketch. Each reveal you have a LO sketch and a card sketch. For my DT position it is the LO and we would love to have you come and join in the fun.

I'm so happy with this LO. There are times when I do a layout and think to myself, "yes, just how I was thinking". Well this was one of those times. The three photos were taken with my phone very early one morning on my school bus run. They are of neighbors properties. It was a frosty, foggy and chilly morning with the sun shinning bright letting us know the day ahead was going to be beautiful and warm.

The barb wire and windmill chippies are by Scraptioia. On the bard wire behind the pictures I have used Distress Ink - Gathered Twigs and then in spots embossing powder -Silver and Bronze. On the other small pieces of barb wire that I cut up I have used a Grey Copic and over that I used some Color Box Pigment Ink - Frosted White. The patterned papers I chose were a mix of Kaisercraft this time - Hunt & Gather, Grunge and Base Coat collections. Behind the photos I used black card stock.

I colored the windmill with Distress Ink - Gather Twigs and the placed a little Color Box Pigment Ink - Frosted White in places which give it a bit of a sliver look. In a few spots over that I used a black ink very lightly and this give it a grey/black look. Here and there I used Twine to resemble rope which seems to be a must to have on all farms :) especially ours.

The wire stencil is by Scraptopia and I used Modeling Paste and then when dry inked over it with Distress ink gathered Twigs. The Chicken Wire Chippie is by Dusty Attic and I have left it the natural color and felt it matched in great with the look. For the title I used the same method as I did for the windmill but not the black.

So Proud

Hello all and welcome. This is my second post for the month over at Scrapbookit. I hope you like it. The design team has now finished the final posts for the month and next month Jo will be posting new design them. Pop on over and check out what we have been up to and please call back next month for the new challenge and to see the new design team.

Over at Scrapbookit this month it has been all about the men in our lives that are our Hero's. My first LO was about my boys and their Hero, my dad. Now for this month it ia about the same wonderful man, My Dad. This time though it is about him being my Hero. I hope you like my LO.

The awesome patterned papers used are by BoBunny - Somewhere in Time Collection. They are great male colors and have flying machines - hot air balloons and even cogs and clocks on them. As soon as I started to put this LO together I knew I had to use some chippie cogs on it and the ones I chose are by WOW - Clock & Gears and Cog & Gears. I  then decided the WOW chippie So Proud was just right as my Dad is one that I'm so proud of. I used Modeling Paste, then Studio Black Gesso on them. When that was dry I then sprayed with Perfect Pearls Mists - Bronze. All products that can be purchased through the Scrapbookit store and arrive in your mail. Just the way I love to shop.

With my patterned paper where the cogs were I decided to cut around them a little and place the photo in behind them. On the edges of my patterned papers I inked with Distress Ink - Vintage Photo. On my black cardstock for my back ground I decided to use my Kaisercraft Quarters Stencil with texture paste. Over that I inked with the Vintage Photo and then sprayed with the Pearls Bronze. I was excited though to use my Banksia (gold) Embossing Powder by Pipe Dream Inks that I got from Jo at the last retreat. I used a glue stick first and then the embossing powder over that, then my heat gun. I just love how it come up.

To finish it off I made this little tag from the patterned papers. I printed it out and then inked the edge and placed a little ink over the paper as well. It give it a little more of an old look (like my dad hehe) to stand out from the other patterned papers and match better. At each corner I placed a Black Pearl by Flourish With A Bling.

Thank you so much for joining me at my blog again. I love it when you call over. I know from personal experience it is so hard to get to everyone's blog.

Hooked

Hello beautiful people. It's the first day of the school holidays
and I couldn't be happier. I love spending time with my boys.
They seem to be growing much faster than I want so I like to
take every chance there is to spend time with them.

The layout I would like to show you today is for my DT at
123 Challenge Bog. As always you have three requirements
for this challenge and they are always fun. This month the
challenge is

Colour: Khaki
Word: Emphasise
Technique: Hidden Journaling

For my LO I chose a photo my girlfriends son Lockie. He just loves to
fish  with his dad and would do it every day if he could. This is my take
on the challenge.

The patterned paper I used is by Kaisercraft - Attitude range. I inked the
edges with Black Soot Distress Ink. Once I had done that I then used my
journal pen and and did some stitching around the edges.

For my hidden journal I decided I would do it on tags which I placed
behind the photos and titled them Fishing Trip. I also inked the edge
of these too. The title chippie - Hooked - is by Scraptopia. I colored it
Copic - 100 Black and then used a little Kaisercraft white ink over it.

The fishing embellishments are by EK Success and Sandylion. For
Lockie's name I used Kaisercraft's Alphas sticker sheet. As you can
see in the pic below I have used the word Emphasise in my writing.

Over at the 123 Challenge Blog there is some lovely work by the rest
of the DT girls to get you mojo running. Please pop on over and check
them out. Join in the fun and be in the running for a wonderful prize.
September is a great month for the male pages and these colors are the
bees knees. So please hop on over.

Princess

Hello all and as always welcome to my blog. I hope you enjoy
my latest LO as much as I do showing them to you. I have created
this one for my DT post at Let's Capture Our Memories. Again the
design team are bringing to you an awesome sketch that you can
join in the fun with.

This is my take below. The beautiful little sweetheart in the
photo is Hailey the daughter of a friend I have made on Facebook.
I have begun to make an album for her and will post it off when
finished. They live in Indiana. It is amazing the beautiful friends
you can make on facebook and I'm very proud to be getting to
know the family and their very special Aunt/sister Sarah who is
just beautiful.

Thge patterned papers I used on this layout are by Kaiswercraft -
Be-you-tiful range. They are just gorgeous for a girl page with the
beautiful pink flowers. The flowers I chose to use are by Prima.
The wooden flower flourish is by Kaiser and I inked it with Kaiser
- Berry ink and then placed Glossy Assents over it.

The doily I inked the edges with Distress Ink - Black Soot. The
little butterflies are by Kaiser and I used the patterned paper range
on them and then inked the edges. The leaf flourish is from one of
my dies and it is also cut from the same paper range. I mounted
the photo on hot pink card stock.

To make the other patterned papers pop a little more from base
sheet I used some black card stock. The word chippie and crown
are by Scraptopia and I used the Kaiser ink and Glossy Assents on
it as well. In the back ground on the spotted paper I used Faber
Castell Gelatos.

The other dies I used are Memory box - Fresh Foliage, Joy Crafts
- Ribbon and Bow. I also used ribbon mesh in a very pretty pink.

I hope you like my layout. Please leave a comment I would love to
know what you think. Also hope on over to the Let's Capture Our
Memories blog and see the other creations from my fellow DT girls.
While there why not join in the challenge and fun.

My Poppy - My Hero

Welcome as always to my blog. I have created this Lo for
my DT position at Scrapbookit. The challenge this month
was set by the very lovely and talented Mel. being the month
of September it was a great choice. September is all about the
dad, Poppy, granddad. It's their special time.

To join in the all the fun......
Create a layout/a project that includes the following:
* Masculine theme
*The words 'My Hero' included in the title
* 4 patterned papers
* Washi tape
* Twine / Ribbon
* At least 1 handmade embellishment

The following is my take on the challenge. The layout is of my
two sons Riley and Harley with their Poppy. He sure is their Hero.
They just adore him and he is the one who kills spiders, cuts the
wood, pulls the splinter and he has them hanging off every word.

Just for information....The crocodile my dad is showing the boys
is ceramic and made by me.

As always I loved the papers I was sent in my kit. These papers by
BoBunny are awesome, and are deferentially male papers. I created
my design on white cardstock.  I guess by now you have all worked
out what my handmade embellishments are. They are the beautiful
things I have fussy cut from the papers. But that is me, as always I
love to fussy cut and it is a way of getting the most from your papers.

The tags I have used are by Kaisercraft and the twine is of course
on my tags. I have inked around the edges of the patterned papers
with Distress Ink - Black Soot. In the background I used Kaisercrafts
Honeycomb clear stamp with the same ink.

The alphas I used are Thickers - Hardcover and the color of them
was just perfect for these papers. The colors on my cardstock are
Faber-Castell Gelatoes and wow are these awesome to use. They
are just great for blending and adding dimension to your work.

To have a look at what the other DT girls have been up to hop on over
to the Scrapbookit Blog, check things out and join in the fun. Remember
that everything we use is available through the store and it is easy access
also through the blog. If you don't see it just send Jo a quick email.

The other thing to remember this month at Scrapbookit is the DT Call.
Yes it is that time again and Jo is wonderful to DT for. You receive an
awesome kit each month to play with. You can find all the details for
this also on the blog. Part of your application is also to join in this
months challenge. That can only mean one thing....Of to the scrap desk
and good luck.

Remember This Moment

Well we are into our third day of Spring and I'm so cold I have
to wonder if we are really in Winter still. It has been the perfect
weather to be indoors and craft. With my indoor time when not
working or running after my boys, I have created a couple of
LO's, this being one.

Isabelle owner, DT member and friend from Let's Capture
Memories asked if I would like to join her for this months color
challenge on the blog. I just loved the colors. I'm sure you will to
so hop over to the blog and join in the fun.

This is my take below on the Color Spot Challenge.

The extremely handsome man with his arm around me is Australian
music/singing artist Shannon Noll. Wow to say I'm over the moon
would be an understatement. I was very lucky to be able to do to the
Red Hot Summer Tour and have a back stage pass. With this pass I
got to meet Suzi Quatro, Black Sorrows and Shannon. Having a meal
and drinks with them.

The Patterned papers I used are by Kaisercraft Base Coat and also
Be-you-tiful. My title and flourishes are also by Kaiser and I have
used a yellow Copic to color them. Behind my title is a doily I cut
with one of my dies. I have inked the edges of my papers and the
doily with Distress Ink - Walnut Stain.

The flowers are by BoBunny and American Crafters. The music
note is also one of my dies.

I just can't help myself.....this was one cute very nice mussels. Ok
enough of that :)  Music sheet is done with an embossing folder by
Sizzix and I lightly went over it with walnut Stain which helped it to
stand out a little better. On the patterned paper right behind the photo
I used a Fiskars Boarder Punch. The flourish at the top and bottom
of the photo are also by Kaiser and colored them the same as the others.
