Life

As you can tell my crafty friends I have got a little behind with my posts because of the Christmas break, our holiday and mum not being well. Today has been a day for visiting the hospital and then home to do some catch up. This layout is one I did for my DT position at Scrapbooking & Keepsakes.

The layout is of a younger me (Just a little younger though lol). My dad used to take a lot of photos and print them himself and this is one of them. I have created it with Kaisercrafts - Lighthouse Collection of patterned papers.

These papers are so beautiful to fussy cut from and as we all know I love to fussy cut, especially flowers. The colors of them on these papers are just beautiful and my second love is that they are roses, they just so pretty.

The chippie is available through the Scrapbooking & Keepsakes store and I colored it with Distress ink - Old Paper. The stamp behind it is from the Artful Collection by Hot Off The Press. On this stamp I used Distress Ink - Vintage Photo. The beautiful rose is fussy cut from the patterned papers. The template is TCW 6x6 Mini Quatrefoil.

The background stamps are also from the also from the Artful Collection and the verse is from the patterned papers along with the bird which I fussy cut. The title is a Kaisercraft rub-on.

CARD

I also created this card from the same papers and added a small chippie and some pink flowers. The butterflies were punched from the patterned papers. The ornate picture frame was also fussy cut from the papers. A simple but cute card.

I hope you like my layout and card, please call into the online store for anything you see on my layout and lots, lots more.

Little Man

Hello crafty friends and welcome to my blog for another of my DT postings. I love to see you stop by to check out what I have been up to. This layout is for the sketch challenge over at Let's Capture Our Memories. The layout is my beautiful son Riley when he was born and of course me. I was so lucky with Riley he was a very good quiet baby. Never a problem from day one so when choosing papers to create my layout I knew these would be great. They reminded me of things soft and beautiful.
This is the sketch -

This is my take using patterned papers by Prima - Delight Collection.

On my background I used Distress Ink - Tea Dye. I pressed the pad it on my mat and then sprayed it with water, I then placed the patterned paper on it and give it a turn. It was then just a quick dry with the heat gun. The other two inks i used were Old paper on the title and Walnut Stain on the patterned paper edges.

I love to fussy cut and cut my embellishments from the patterned papers. I love doing this and these Prima papers were great for it. My circles were cut using Kaiser Crafts circle die set and I then inked.

On the Kaiser Craft corrugated cardboard I used Kaisers Petal Pink and Archival Pigment Ink - Moonlight White. Behind that I used a white oval paper doily.

Behind the circles and even though very hard to see there is a background sticker strip of Lacey Boarders by Kaisercraft. The chipboard title I used is by Scraptopia. I covered it with Modeling paste and then a little of the Old Paper and pink ink.

I hope you have enjoyed my DT layout for LCOM and that you also have the time to hop on over and check out what the other girls have been up to and maybe join in.

This Day Was The Best

Welcome crafty friends as always to my blog. I hope you have all been able to have some wonderful time at your craft desk. I have been very busy of late but in my evenings as always I try to keep my mind busy with scrapping.
Today I would like to show you a layout I have created for Heather Waldron challenge over at
Home & Scrapped I just love the sketch so much.

This is my take and the photo I have used are from our holiday in Queensland.

I created my layout on black cardstock and my patterned papers are from Graphic 45 - Bohemian Bazaar Collection. The color in these patterned papers went so well with the birds. The colors were a great match and both so bright and vibrant.

The chippie is by Scraptopia and I colored it with a blue Copic and the used a little Archival Pigment Ink - Moonlight Blue on it. Out of the patterned papers I used a Tim Holtz Die to cut the tags, then used my journal pen to stitch around the edges of each one. On the tags and the other peices of patterned paper I used Distress Ink - Black Soot and twine through the tag.

The Honeycomb die I used is by Cheery Lynn Designs Frame. Once I had run it through my Sizzix I cut pieces and placed them behind everything.

My embellishments on this layout have been fussy cut from the patterned papers. There are times where I find that the papers are great for this and there is no need or very little to use anything else. This was one of those times.

I hope you have enjoyed my take on the sketch and until my next post Happy Crafting.

Journey Travel Adventure

Hello and a very warm welcome to my blog. I hope that everyone has had a wonderful Christmas brake. I know I have and our holiday away was just wonderful. I have come home to a very sick mum and at present she is in hospital. She is a fighter and continues to do so. One of the things I promised her was that I would keep up my scraping. She loves my work and loves seeing what I come up with. So for my mum I have continued and I'm finding it is keeping my mind busy.

So for this post I would like to show you a layout I created for the challenge over at Krerative Koncepts. It is for an awesome sketch challenge and I enjoyed doing it.

Below is my take on the sketch and the photos are from our trip to Queensland last year.

The patterned papers I used are by Graphic 45 - Song Bird Collection. The chippie is by Scraptopia. On the edge of the floral paper I used a Fiskars punch.

Behind the chippie I used a paper doily and colored it with ink. I colored the chippie with a Copic black pen and then used some Archival Pigment Ink - Moonlight White.

I love to fussy cut and these papers are great for that. The flower and bird I have fussy cut and I think they look great on the layout. My journaling is done by hand with my journal pen. The other two inks I used are Distress Ink - Walnut Stain and Tumbled Grass.

I hope you like my take on the sketch. Until you call again, happy crafting.

Appreciate Beauty

Hello crafty friends and welcome to my blog. Today I would like to show you my take on the challenge over at 123 Challenge Blog. As always there are three requirements for the challenge and you will need to fill these to be in for your chance on an awesome prize.  Make sure you call by the blog though and see what the other DT girls have been up to. There is plenty of inspiration there.

My word requirement is in my title, my technique folds are where I have folded my patterned paper over. The lemon color I don't think you can miss that :) The photo i have used is of a beautiful flower that was at the Wet & Wild theme Park in Queensland when we went there in 2014. I love flowers and Take many photos of them.

The patterned paper I based my layout on is by Kaisercraft - Now Boarding Collection. The patterned paper which I have done my folds on is by Websters Strawberry Fields. The distress ink I used on the edges is Gathered Twigs. The little butterflies are a Carl Punch.

The beautiful Birdhouse is by Prima - Shabby Chic Treasures Birdhouse collection. I have used a little Distress Ink - Mustard Seed on it just in keeping with the lemon required. On my patterned papers I used Derivan Ink - Sepia, Yellow, Orange, Blue and Green. Also some Prima Color Bloom Sprays - Sorbet and Vintage Coal.

I have used a variety of flowers and I think they look stunning around my flower photo. I have used Prima - Divines flowers, Petaloo - Darjeeling and Botanica Collections. and some paper blooms that I added a little of the Gathered Twigs Distress Ink to. Again bringing more of the Lemon color
to the layout.

For the title I used Kaisercraft Mini Alpha Stickers - Latte and Alpha Script Rubons.

I have also used my journal pen to do some stitching on the edges of the holes I created in the paper.

I hope you have enjoyed the closeups and details on my layout and that you will be heading over to the 123 Challenge blog and joining in the fun.

Happy Crafting,  Hugs Brenda

New Years with a Bang

Welcome to my blog again. We have  had Christmas come and go, New Years come and go, next is Australia Day. For my family it will also be Country Swimming Championships and the start of school soon for both my boys. Riley moving onto Secondary School and Harley changing to our local Primary School which will be a new start as well. I guess my family are bring 2015 in with a big bang this year. New challenges and beginnings.

The layout I would like to show you today is for Let's Capture Our Memories. As always at LCOM you get to create your design to a sketch. I chose to create mine about New Years.

This is my take on the sketch. Please don't forget to call by the LCOM blog to see what the other girls have been up to and get inspired by the creations and join in.

The patterned paper I used is a Glitz Design - Wild And Free Drips. It is an awesome paper for this layout. It reminded me of the fireworks as they fell towards the ground. The letters I used for the title are red American Thickers and Mini Aloha Stickers.

Around the edge of the photo section I used my black  journal pen. I used Kaisercrafts circle die to cut the circles out and then used the journal pen to do some stitching.

I mounted the photos on purple, red, green and yellow cardstock and then mounted them on black cardstock. Around the edge of the black cardstock I used Kaisercrafts white ink. The circles were cut from the same cardstock as the photo frames.

I hope you like my New Years layout for Let's Capture Our Memories and that you go by the blog and join in the fun. We would love to see you stop in.
