#thisismylife

Hello all and welcome to my blog and DT post for Let's Get Sketchy. WE have taken a change this week from the sketches and have the wonderful advert below to draw inspiration from. I must admit there is loads to chose from in this picture. I have chosen to use the colors Orange, Black and White. I also chose to use the hashtag (#).

This page is all about my son Riley and the fact that Saxophone is his life. Along with his swimming and love of school work though his music and his Sax are at the top of his life list. As everyone would know I brag a lot about my boys and now is no different lol. He is a wonderful Sax player and I'm super proud. The photo was taken when he went to music school for 8 days during his school holidays and preformed in the final concert after exams.

As I tend to do a lot, I have created my page on white cardstock and to start creating my background I used Tim Holtz Distress Markers - Dusty Concord, Stormy Sky, Mustard Seed and Evergreen Bough. I used them with the Tim Holtz Distress Marker Air Sprayer. I love to mix it up a little with how I do my backgrounds and with this I love the speckles.

I then used Modeling Paste with some Stampin' Up Ink - More Mustard mixed in it to give the hint of orange when used with Tim Holtz Stencil - Strips. After that I placed some of the More Mustard ink on my craft sheet and then sprayed with some water and mixed it. I then used a fan brush to run across the page. I then used a TCW Stencil - Mini Sheet Music and Jet Black Archival Ink.

The patterned paper I placed my photo on is by Kaisercraft - Scrap Yard Collection and I inked the edges. My chippies are by Scrapmatts - Assorted Words 28, Music Notes 02 and Treble Clefs 01. I coloured them with a Black Copic and then used Wink Of Stella Brrush - Gold over the top. I also streaked a little of the gold at the edges of the stripes.

Please hop on over to the Let's Get Sketchy blog and see the other inspiration by the Design Team. Join in on the fun. Thanks for stopping in and have a great week. I hope your crafting mojo flows.

Friend

Hello, welcome to my blog and my latest DT page for Megs Garden. I would like to share with you today my latest creation using the Water Colour In Blues Collection by Megs Garden.

These are stunning papers and I have used a teal blue to go with them. The photo I chose is of a very special friend of mine Dawn. She is one in million. Dawn did all the work to give mum, my boys and I our last Christmas together. At the time of her doing this little did we know that two month later she would start her own battle with breast cancer. I laid my mum to rest and when I thought my heart could brake no more I got Dawns news. I love this page of her so much. She is winning her battle and fighting on. I loved creating this page of her with all my heart. She is special, the page is special and I used the most beautiful papers and special flowers from Meg's Garden

I chose to use the beautiful Green Tara flowers - Blue. I love them so much, they are different sizes and the colour you chose is also complimented with white. They are so versatile.

For the plywood frame I used a Copic - Blue (B23) and the over that I used a little Viva Inka Gold - Ice-blue. For the title I used the same Copic and a little this time of the Viva Inka Gold - Platinum.

In the corner of the frame I used a Brass Round Filigree Vintage Trinket. Behind the fame I used some Tim Holtz idea-ology tissue paper. I also did some stamping with Prima's Script Stamp.

Around the edges of the patterned paper I used Distress Ink - Stormy Sky and here and there on the page I used Liquid Pearls - Juniper.

On my side wood flourish I used the blue Copic and then the Viva Inka Gold - Ice-Blue (below) and in this same group I used the flowers and another of the Vintage trinkets.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my page of my beautiful friend Dawn. I also hope you find the time to check out the Meg's Garden Store to see these beautiful papers, flowers and flourishes. There are many many more amazing products to see as well.

This month requirements are -

For my page I chose to use a couple of  photos of my son Harley and his best friend Mitch when I had taken them out for a drive looking for some toadstools to photograph. We come across a small creak and the boys couldn't wait to get out the car and explore. The toadstool were no longer going to be taken and it was all about the boys.
