Check it out.......  Colorful Creations is having a Design Team Call.

If your looking for a Design Team then hop on over and have a look. I know its going to have a great Team and loads of fun with the challenges.

A Special Day

Hello crafty friends and welcome to my blog. I hope each and everyone of you have had a wonderful Christmas like the boys and I have. Lunch and tea at my dads was sadder this year without mum but none the less still a wonderful day and I'm so glad and grateful I got to spend it with those I love.

Now about my post. This one is for my DT posting over at Let's Get Sketchy. Sorry it is late but boy has this Christmas month been busy. Much more busy than I thought it would be. You still have a few days to put a page together and hop on over and join in. Sometimes the quick pages are the good ones and you never know you just might be a winner.

My second page for this month is a re-do again from a very old page I did when I first started scrapping. Lots of changes to the page but using the same photos.

This is the main original page (it was a double layout). The funny thing is I thought it was great and now I look at and think yes still great but how far my designing has come.

As you can see the closeup of my son Riley was from the page above and the other two are from the second page. Riley loves the new creation.

Now for the closeups and the products I used.

White Cardstock and Black Cardstock
Patterned papers - Websters and Echo Park
Tim Holtz Stencil - Bubbles
Modeling Paste

White Acrylic Paint
Distress Marker - Black Soot
Dusty Attic Acrylic Paint - Mountain Meadow
Distress Ink - Weathered Wood
Rubon Letter

Dusty Attic Chippie Word - Special
Script Stamp
Timby Designs Color Crush - Pomegranate and Kiwi Fruit

I love his smile, it's priceless. I still remember this day at the fire station and me telling Riley to smile and as soon as I clicked the camera he looked over to Fireman Dale. He didn't want to miss one single thing he was doing. The smile was for his mum the eyes were on one of his hero's, a fireman.

Thank you so much for stopping in. Please call in again as I will have many more Design Team pages for you to see along with other creations. I hope you all have a wonderful New Year and see 2017 in with special people who you love. I know I will. Please be safe and I look forward to seeing you all and your creations in the New Year.

Amazing Teacher

Hello crafty friends and welcome again to my blog. I must have been on a roll the last few days as I have finally after sometime been able to look at the challenges this month. Wow I can't believe it. The boys think it's because I'm finally getting on top of being sick for so long. I hope they are right.

The page I have created is for the challenge over at White with 1 and I decided to do a page for my son Harley's album of his Grade 6 teacher Miss Hilliard. He is really going to miss her, she has been an awesome teacher and has been able to help Harley in a fantastic way to learn.

I'm so happy with how this page has come up and Harley is more than happy with it too.

The products I used are -
White Cardstock
Green Cardstock
Paper leaves
Dusty Attic chippie word title
Green Metallic Cotton
Lindys Stamp Gang Flat Migical - Greased Lightning Green

Pebeo Studio Acrylic Paint - Green mixed with Modeling Paste
Brass Embellishment
Viva Inka Gold Rub - Green/yellow
Mont Marte Paper Flowers

Mixed Paper Flowers
script Stamp
Maya Road Stencil
Art Lover Alpha Letter Rubons
Distress Ink - Shabby Shutters

I know that Harley will move onto Secondary School next year from our small country school all the better for having Miss Hilliard as his year 6 teacher. Not only will she leave his early start instilled in his mind but her teaching and personality will be in his heart. I also know that over the years when he looks back at other students from our small community following behind him he will be able to tell those she teaches. She is truly amazing and we love her.

I hope you have enjoyed stopping in and having a look at my page for the White with 1 challenge. Until my next post happy crafting.
Happy Christmas and New Year to you all. xxx

Be Your Own Kind Of Beautiful

Hello crafty friends and welcome as always to my blog. I didn't think I would get some extra pages done before Christmas but I surprised myself after popping into the Dusty Attic Blog. My favorite colour is purple and and I had to use Dusty Attic chippies. I have plenty of them so that sealed it, time to look for a photo. This wasn't too hard as both Riley and I have been addicted to Snapchat and the fun changing pictures. I loved this one with the purple piece of hair.

The colour and words are the inspiration and you must use Dusty Attic Chippes (easy I love them)
Now for my take on this awesome challenge.

I have used three Dusty Attic Chippies on my page -
Honeycomb (small)
Feather Charm #3
Word Pack #9 (Beautiful)

The other products I used are -
White cardstock
Kaisercraft Patterned Papers
White Gesso
Green Tara Flowers
Prima Color Blooms Mist Spray - Iris

I coloured and Word Title with Viva Inka Gold Rub - Violet. I love how the Inka Gold products come up on the chipboard. They have a beautiful rich metallic look.

On the Feather Charm I used Copics to colour the base Mellow and Golden Yellow. Over these I used a variety of Kaiser Gel Pens in different shades of purple.

I hope you have enjoyed stopping in and having a look at my page for the Dusty Attic Challenge.

We Are Family - Display Frame

Hello crafty friends and as always welcome to my blog and my post for Meg's Garden. Today I would like to share with you my We Are Family photo display frame. I have created it using the very beautiful Spring Pastels Collection.

This collection consist of stunning shades of pinks, lavenders, greens and  blues. For my creation I decided to focus on the pink mix. Like I do with my pages, cards and off the page and more I have done quite a bit of fussy cutting. It gives a great use of the papers and Meg's Garden papers are wonderful for this.

I have used the beautiful spring coloured patterned papers on the background with a different one in the different sections. With the frame I painted it with with and then used some Distress Ink - Victorian Velvet sponges over it.

I have even fussy cut around the boys and myself along with the watch on the chain, butterfly and period lady. The words are rub-ons and in the small square just below us I used a filigree long oval vintage trinket and placed a dot in the middle with liquid pearls. Behind our photo and on some of the other sections I used some Flower Edge Organza White lace, it is so delicate looking.

I have used some of the Green Tara Fantasy Blooms in the White and also the pink. When using the pink ones though I made sure to just use the ones from the pack that were white with the hint of pink center. I have also used a round large filigree vintage trinket and placed one of the Fantasy Blooms in the middle.

I have used a chippies for the title and the ornate frames around my sons Riley and Harley. They have been coloured with a Pale Lilac Copic which has some out more on the dusty pink side so it goes well with the rest of the work. If using this method I would always recommend that you test on the back first to make sure your colour is coming out the way you want it to.

Again behind this photo of Riley I have placed the beautiful lace and the bird have been fussy cut from the papers, they are so cute. With the photo of my youngest son Harley I fussy cut one of the flowers from the papers. These papers are so beautiful and I love the flowers for fussy cutting just the same as the birds.

This beautiful dancing period lady was fussy cut from the papers along with the tags I have used. Again I have used more of the flowers and another of the Vintage Trinkets, the filigree strip and again I have used the Liquid Pearls in the middle.
I have enjoyed you stopping in and I please keep calling back. There is always something new.

Happy

Hello crafty friends and welcome to my December post for 123 Challenge Blog. Yes I said that scary word - December, ops there I go again :) It's the month we all love but also wish it didn't come around so fast. It seems like the years are just flying by.

First I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year.

Again we have another great challenge for you and some fantastic inspiration from the rest of the design team over at the blog. Wow last challenge for 2016 so I hope you come along and join in even though this is a hectic time of year. Take a little me time and you never know you might be the lucky one to win the monthly challenge and end up with an awesome prize to help start your new year.

When I first looked at the challenge I thought Christmas and then when I started to look through my stash of photos I come across the one I used of my eldest son Riley. Mmmmm, far from Christmas, but I decided I would use it and change my plans. You will find that the design team has been split down the middle with our thinking. Half going with Christmas and the other half not. Makes for an interesting challenge and some great inspiration. Now for my page -

For the base of my page I used Kaisercraft _ Empire Colleection patterned papers and Sugar and Spice Studio Prisma Paper - Silver.
The other products used are : Scrap FX Chippie (Bike)
Kaiser Craft Sticker Sheet
Memory Maze Believe Chippie

Scrapmatts Chippie
Distress Ink - Black Soot
Wink Of Stella Brush - Silver
Hemp Cord - Blue
Journal Pen
Distress Markers - Evergreen Bough, Ripe Persimmon

I hope you have enjoyed stopping in and that I have inspired you just a little. Don't forget there is more inspiration over at the 123 Challenge Blog. Then please link up your page as I would love to see your creation. Happy Crafting.
